KODI Rafting Owners Dave and Amy McGrath love living in the Colorado mountains and spending time on the river with their two children.
The two have been rafting together since 2002 when Dave began his career as a raft guide on the Arkansas River.
After graduating from Kansas State University and starting a family in 2009, Dave and Amy set out on new adventures to reconnect with their roots, eventually returning to Colorado.
Dave and Amy share a passion for the river and are excited to pass the KODI legacy on to their daughter Danni and son Thomas.

Water Wheel Park and Bridal Veil Falls, Idaho Springs, Colorado

The water wheel itself is also quite interesting and was built in the late 1800’s by a local miner, Charlie Taylor. He used the water wheel to drive a machine called a stamp mill. Soft of like a big hammer that grinds and crushes the rock to get silver and gold ore out of it. It was relocated from Ute Creek to its present location by a group of volunteers in the 1980’s and now belongs to the Idaho Springs Historical Society.

The Phoenix Gold Mine was purchased in 1968 by our family of 4th generation Colorado miners. In 1988, we decided to share our passion for prospecting, mining and panning for gold with others by offering tours. The history of the mine is rich. It is estimated that the mine has produced over 100,000 troy ounces of gold since it's opening in 1871.
